Ronan Keating: 'New album brought back old ghosts'

Boyzone star dedicates collection to mum
Ronan Keating has revealed that the recording of his new album was an emotional challenge.
The Boyzone leader's latest collection, Songs For My Mother, was recorded as a tribute to his mum, who died of cancer in 1998, and features 10 of her favourite songs.
Ronan told the Daily Star: "In the studio, with 'Carrickfergus' in particular, I had to re-take a few times as I had a lump in my throat.
"It was played at my mother's funeral so there was a real emotional attachment. Recording was tough as it brought up a lot of old ghosts."
Proceeds from the album will be donated to Cancer Research UK and the Marie Keating Foundation, the charity created in honour of Ronan's mother.
He added: "There is a real story behind the whole album, messages from fans to their mums in the sleeve notes and my own words about each track."
Songs For My Mother is out now.
