US singer nearly got tattoo of Queen star's face
Katy Perry has revealed an unlikely inspiration for her pop career - legendary British rocker Freddie Mercury.
The singer says Freddie's approach to life inspired her to pen hits like 'I Kissed A Girl' and ' Hot N' Cold'.
In an interview with MySpace, Katy explained: "The combination of his sarcastic approach to writing lyrics and his 'I don't give a f***' attitude really inspired my music."
The US star's fandom is so strong that she even considered getting a permanent reminder of the deceased Queen singer.
She added: "I nearly got a huge tattoo of Freddie Mercury's face on my back a few years ago.
"It's probably for the best that I didn't get it done, but I still want to do it."
