The X Factor judge revealed if he could kiss anyone in the world it would be the Girls Aloud singer.
No wonder Simon was so keen to sign up the star for the reality show.
The pop mogul was interviewed by 11-year-old Francesca Gallio for The Guardian.
Answering the question he told the schoolgirl: "I'm going to get into so much trouble after this. I want a disclaimer here first of all that I'm going to say this person as if they weren't married.
"It's fantasy. So I'm going to say Cheryl Cole. Who wouldn't? This is just pretend, right?"
During the interview he also revealed he favourite singer was Frank Sinatra, while he admitted his school reports were "horrific".
It'll be interesting to see if Cheryl still decides to sit next to Simon on the judging panel later this year.
