James Morrison has issued a damning report on US music, labelling it "s***".
The Warwickshire crooner, who lost out to Paul Weller in the Best Male Solo Artist category at the BRITs on Wednesday (18 February), said it was increasingly important to encourage the wealth of talent emerging from the UK.
He told Metro: "There's a lot of American s***. A lot of r'n'b just sounds the f***ing same."
But the 'Broken Strings' singer was more than happy to lend his support to fellow British songwriter James Blunt.
He said: "He doesn't do bad with the ladies, probably has a massive house in Ibiza and is laughing all the way to the bank."
Morrison's next single, 'Please Don't Stop The Rain' is due for release next month.
